Making Magic

« Before launching the “Metal Seduction” collection, I went three times to the factoryin Italy trespassing the Covid pandemic restrictions to make sure all the shoes were made respecting my ideas and desires. I was involved in every stage of the process of building the Adam K Shoes.

The last strip in which I shot these “behind the scenes” pictures with my pro cam, took place in August 2020, where I spent a whole week at the factory. It really made me realize how the Italian artisans work very hard especially considering the hot weather and all the heating machines around to make my luxury shoes. Indeed It’s all hand made following long traditions of great shoe makers. This demands years of practice to be able to master just one step of the whole process.

I’ve developed with the whole team in our italian factory a great relationship where I wander around the factory like I am wandering around my parents’ house.

I have so much respect for their level of craftsmanship and wish for everybody there to keep their jobs as they are risking unemployment everyday. I felt their pain and commitment to the craft like I’ve rarely experienced in my life. That’s why they put their trust in me to do good and keep the magic going and growing! »
